- The state of homes in Saudi Arabia is very shaky right now. In America, we are accustomed to "the 1%" and a large middle class. Being from a privileged area, we do not witness what Saudi's witness. There is a very small amount of rich people who own beautiful mansions, and everyone else lives in very poor conditions.
- One problem with statistics in Saudi Arabia is that the monarchy does not like to release official statistics, so most of the statistics are skewed and not always reliable. This causes a lack of statistics regarding a percentage of people who are homeless.
- A typical house in Saudi Arabia is not what we view as a normal house in America. Saudi houses are usually more like villas. They are somewhat what you would imagine out of a Native American tribal house, with open doors and high walls. Homeless people stay together, in parks and on the side of the roads.
This video demonstrates where homeless people stay in the streets of Saudi Arabia.
This mud shack shows what some houses on the outskirts of cities look like. This is not an ideal place to live, and is very exposed to the elements. http://notsohairyjerry.wordpress.com/2008/06/21/images-from-saudi-arabia/
This picture shows the difference between a nice house and a not-so-nice house. The nice house is protected, and very private, and also well-equipped for the weather. The less nice house is very beat down and easy to break in. https://samslifeinjeddah.wordpress.com/tag/sami-angawi/
The Main program set to administer welfare, the General Organization for Social Insurance, is used to give out money to people who meet requirements. This is good for the people, and shows that the government is becoming more progressive one step at a time. It is slowly working to eradicate poverty. It is just impossible to know percentages of homeless people in Saudi Arabia.

This story demonstrates how Saudi poverty is systematic for Shiites. This is unfortunate because they are born into a faction of Islam, and they stay in it and this leads to them being poor. The government oppresses the Shiites and restricts them from prospering as a people.
